Above, we have presented our ‘VERY’ innovative T-shirt designs, there will be two choices. The backs though have a common design as shown in the included image. With 5 facts about Asia's only great ape displayed on your back, no one will doubt that you really LURVE these animals… no one.. The top left T-shirt will suit our female supporters as it has been custom - cut especially for them while the bottom one’s for y’all guys. That way, everyone can all show their AWESOME love for orangutans. Of course, if you're a girl, it's completely up to you which T-shirt you prefer. However, if any male supporters buy the first T-shirt, be warned - unless you’re SUPER skinny - that it won't fit... The 'We Love Orangutans' shirt comes in S,M,L,XL and a Baby - T size while the AWSM T-shirt range from L to XXXL. Each one costs RM 15 but those who buy in 5 or more expect a discount of RM 2 per T-shirt!

Beneath the shirts, you can very well see a cute image of a baby orangutan in black. Well, little cutey there, is Myki the Orangutan! Our mascot. He will be featured on our custom made leather key chains so that anyone can have the joy of carrying him around. Plus with his simple design he'll go with just about anything. This friendly orangutan promises to keep you company at all times and go wherever you take him (no complaints whatsoever!). Isn't he just the ultimate little buddy? And he comes at a bargain price too! You can get him for as little as RM 2 so I’m shocked you’re not rushing to buy him RIGHT NOW.

Last but not least, we give you our one of a kind orangutan themed button badge. Located beneath the image of the key chain design, we have exhibited our chosen persona for the button badges. Once again you can see our charming friend encouraging all of us to come together for the sake of orangutans everywhere. Myki would like to send out his message to the public and would be able to do so much more efficiently if he was pinned to your bag. Of course, being a button badge, Myki has no problem at all being pinned to anything you want. He'll do just fine on a cap, bag or wallet. This button badge is priced at RM 2.50 but should you choose to buy two of him, we'll gladly lower the price to RM 4 for both (meaning RM 2 for one).

Recap!
Shirts = RM 15.00
Discount of RM 2.00 if you buy 5 or more at the same time.

Why save orangutans?

Posted by: ilou2010 / Category:

In the process of running this campaign, we have been asked numerous times ‘Why should we save orangutans?’ ‘What makes them so special?’ ‘Why not choose some other animal to protect?’ To help clear all doubts as to the importance of this species, we have decided to put up a post on the significance of orangutans and the reasons why everyone should pitch in to help them.

  1. There are only 45,000 to 50000 Bornean orangutans living in the wild.

  1. Orangutans are listed in the top 25 most endangered primates worldwide.

  1. They give birth every 6 to 10 years (the longest interbirth interval of any animal) resulting in fewer offspring compared to humans which have a birth rate of about 1 child every 1 to 2 years.

  1. They are the only Asian great ape.

  1. Experts predict their extinction within the next ten years if deforestation continues at this rate.

  1. Orangutans are needed to maintain the diversity of species on Earth.

  1. Losing them would result in an unbalanced ecosystem.

  1. By dispersing seeds in the forest, orangutans play a major role in forest regeneration and plant species diversity.

  1. From a religious point of view, orangutans are one of the many creations of God and we should cherish them as such.

  1. According to expert anthropologists, the study of orangutans is key to understanding the process of human evolution.

  1. In ten years, experts predict that orangutans could be extinct and we would have lost forever the only great ape of Asia.

  1. And of course, we need to preserve them for our children's children so that they can see an orangutan with their own eyes and realize how valuable this species is to us.

We never know the worth of water till the well is dry.  ~Thomas Fuller, Gnomologia, 1732

Necessity Is The Mother of Invention

Posted by: ilou2010 / Category:

The need?
To save the Orangutans which are facing extinction due to our inconsiderate actions of deforestation.

AND

This blog is born.
Dedicated to giving new hope to these endangered primates, we would like to inform every human being on this earth about OUR responsibilities as to how to give them new hope.

We want people to be aware of the effects their actions have on the environment.

By starting this blog, we are doing our best to encourage everyone to start doing their part in taking care of this gentle ape. We need our readers to realize how precarious their situation is. Orangutans lie on the brink of extinction and only through our combined efforts will there be even the slightest chance of the species making it through the next few years.

By blogging about Orangutans, we hope not only to prevent this one species from becoming extinct but to also save the environment. If more people understood how their actions, whether directly or indirectly cause the Orangutans to suffer, maybe..just maybe.. they will start taking better care of the flora and fauna around them too.
